6th February 2010 After two years of hard work our Junior co-ordinator, and Club Person of the Year 2009, Sally Stobie has stepped down from her role.
Our juniors are one of the success stories of our club. Numbers are booming and the three top teams of the club in 2009 came from our Junior ranks. We are now seeking the assistance of some new committee members to help ensure the ongoing success of our Juniors in 2010 and beyond.
We are fortunate to have a number of people who give their time generously by coaching, managing and umpiring, but we need to have a team to co-ordinate every aspect of our Junior season. This involves organising registrations, ensuring that uniforms and equipment are distributed, supporting coaches and managers in their roles, organizing social activites, team photos, trophies and medals, and supporting club activites such as the Quiz Night and the Family Fun Day.
It is a fact of life that everyone seems to be so busy these days and it sometimes seems difficult to volunteer your time, however the more people we can have involved the easier it will be. Please think about putting up your hand this season to help out in some way. The majority of the work is done at the start of the season - once the games are underway it’s just plain sailing!
